Stand Up, Take Action and Make A Noise for the MDGs from 17-19 September 2010. Join millions of people around the globe and be part of the world’s largest mobilisation seeking to end global poverty, address its causes and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
We are asking people to hold event in schools, universities, workplaces, churches, community groups and at home to raise awareness about the need to tackle poverty. We will supply you with all the resources you need to run your event.
In the past three years, Stand Up participation has led to direct action and policy changes in many developing countries, where leaders saw that people in their country were passionate about ending poverty. 2010 is a critical year for the MDGs. With only five years left until 2015 – the time to act is now.
In 2009, 225,334 Australians joined with over 173 million people around the world who refused to stay seated in the face of extreme poverty, creating a global movement which continues to grow beyond all expectations.

I wish that all would learn that we must share our own wealth with those less fortunate

How do we help? How do we donate? Making a wish does not generate funds and does not help us eliminate poverty.

Navneel – Make Poverty History does not have fund-raising as its primary aim. Instead we aim to raise awareness and better understanding of the issues that cause, perpetuate and surround global poverty.
If you’d like to help further, you’re welcome to get involved in our campaign work here
