What is STAND UP?
On October 17, join millions of people from around the world to STAND UP and SPEAK OUT against poverty and injustice.
In 2000, world leaders from 190 countries signed up to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs ), a global plan to halve extreme poverty by 2015.
Last year, 91,987 Australians joined more than 23 million people in 87 countries in the STAND UP campaign. It was the largest single coordinated mobilization in the history of the Guinness World Records.
In 2007, we are at half time – but the world is falling behind.
This year, you can join this growing movement of people calling on our leaders to take action now.
